Welcome to the Counselor Education electronic portfolio for Courtney Alvarez.  I am a third year doctoral student in the Department of Counseling and Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.  Thank you to Dr. Michelle Hunnicutt Hollenbaugh for inspiring and motivating my doctoral cohort to complete electronic portfolios as a part of our Internship experience.  Details related to my counseling, teaching, and research interests can be found in the corresponding  sections.

I am originally from Houston, TX, and I received my undergraduate education from the University of Houston.  Go Coogs!  I have lived, worked, and studied in Corpus Christi, TX for four and a half years.  I received a Masters of Science in Counseling from Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.  I am now a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I work as the Director of the Corpus Christi Child & Family Program for Presbyterian Children's Homes & Services.
